Copying a list into a form, checking a recipe while a video plays, keeping an order number in view in a chat — switching back and forth to your notes app breaks the flow. A floating note stays on screen over whatever app you are using.
How floating notes work
A floating note is a small window drawn over other apps. Android allows this through the "Display over other apps" permission, which you grant once. The note stays on top while you keep using the app underneath.
Set it up with FloatNote+
FloatNote+ (our app) floats each note as a small chip over any app. Tap the chip and it opens as a card right there; tap its title bar to fold it back.
- Install FloatNote+ from Google Play and allow "Display over other apps".
- Tap + to write a note — it appears over your screen as a card.
- Open the app you need. The note stays on top; fold it into a chip when you want the screen back.
- Use colors, bold, text size and pictures to make notes easy to tell apart.
- To bring a note up at a set time, open its ⋮ menu and choose Remind me — once, every day, weekdays or the days you pick.
Also on your PC
FloatNote+ for Windows floats the same kind of notes over any window, and the two apps sync through your own Google Drive (a Pro feature on Android).
