Overview

Rotate+ forces the screen orientation for the whole phone or for each app, with one tap and no root. Pick Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Upside down, Reverse landscape or Lock current and it applies instantly. Per-app rules keep videos and games in landscape and chat and reading in portrait — each rule is applied when the app opens and released when you leave.

If an app turns the screen back, Keep orientation puts your choice back, and it stops trying if an app keeps fighting, so nothing loops.

Rotate once turns just the current app until you switch apps or turn the screen off, and tiles, widgets and shortcuts keep it one tap away. On Android 16 tablets it switches to the system rotation setting automatically. Free gives you 3 per-app rules with a small banner ad; Pro adds unlimited rules, conditions, a floating rotate button and no ads.

FAQ

Do I need root?

No. Rotate+ works without root. Android 16 large screens ignore the usual app rotation request, so on those tablets Rotate+ detects this and switches to the system rotation setting automatically.

Why does it ask for accessibility? Is it safe?

Accessibility is used only to know which app is on screen, for per-app rules, and to hold your chosen orientation with an invisible 1-pixel window. Rotate+ never reads screen content, text or passwords. If you prefer, you can use Usage access instead. There is no account, and nothing is sent anywhere.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

All rotation modes, Keep orientation, Rotate once, tiles, widgets and shortcuts are free, along with 3 per-app rules and a small banner ad. Pro adds unlimited per-app rules, conditions that change the orientation automatically (while charging, with headphones, a Bluetooth device, a car or desk dock, during a call or at set times), a floating rotate button and no ads.

Can I use Rotate+ on an Android car head unit?

Yes, if your head unit has Google Play and runs Android 8.0 or later. App rules keep navigation, music or video apps in the orientation you want. The setup screens are laid out for wide, short landscape displays. The head unit must allow “Display over other apps”.
